NOTICES WE ARE DELIGHTED TO WELCOME BACK Father Terry Brebner and thank him most sincerely for agreeing to stand in for Father Joe Okeke who has returned to spend a few weeks with his family in Nigeria. We have such happy memories of Father Terry who ministered to us with dedication and affection in those years when we didn’t have a Parish Priest. While we warmly welcome him back, please note that Father travels from Rotherham and if the weather is bad we would not want him to attempt the journey, so we will stand by with a service of Word and Communion in case he can’t make it. PEACE SUNDAY— Next Sunday, the 16th January is Peace Sunday and there will be a collection after Mass for this charity which Pope Francis urges us to support. FIRST HOLY COMMUNION PREPARATION begins soon for the group which we hope will make their First Communions in May. Carol is holding a meeting for parents in the church hall this Tuesday evening at 6pm. YOUR PRAYERS ARE REQUESTED for the family and friends of Dorothy Parkin who died recently. Dot’s funeral will be at Rose Hill Crematorium at 10am this Tuesday 11th January. Places are restricted and arrangements should be made directly with the family if you wish to attend. PLEASE REMEMBER IN YOUR PRAYERS Julia Halls, a much loved class teacher at the Holy Family Primary School and a longstanding member of our music group. Julia’s lovely soprano voice accompanied us in church on many occasions. Julia’s funeral will be in St Lawrences Church Hatfield on Wednesday at 10am. COVID: the Omicron Variant is spreading like wildfire in our area right now. Please, please be extra careful and exercise every caution to help reduce the spread of this evil disease. Please continue to wear masks in Church and sanitise on entering and leaving the building. FOOD BANK – This week the Foodbank has delivered food parcels to 15 homes in the area and 9 people came to collect from St Mary’s Church. Many thanks to all who contribute and all who run the Foodbank. PARISH SAFEGUARDING: Contact is Carol Flanagan. Many thanks Carol. A very important ministry. E-BULLETIN: Produced by John. I just wondered if Fr Terry Brebner was once an Army Chaplain? If so we got to know him very well in Munster.
