NOTICES

PLEASE REMEMBER that the Clocks go back by an hour at midnight and schools return on Monday after the long half term break. We are mindful that Covid levels are very high in schools and in the community as a whole and we ask everyone to continue to be extra vigilant. This Pandemic is far from over!

OUR SERVICE OF REMEMBRANCE is at 7pm on Thursday 11th November, which is also Remembrance Day. You will find more invitations in the porch. PLEASE will you take one for yourself and for any other members of your family and friends. We have decided to remember all who have died over the last FIVE YEARS so please ensure families are aware as they might wish to join us to remember their loved ones.

HEATING UPDATE We are still waiting for the new boiler to arrive from Germany. It will be installed and commissioned within a week of it’s arrival in the country. Until then please pray that the weather stays mild – and remember to add an extra layer of clothing.

A RETREAT AND RENEWAL DAY before Advent begins will be held at St Pauls Cantley on the 27th November from 10am to 4pm. A poster with programme for the day is attached available in the porch or attached to the E-Bulletin. All welcome but for catering planning please email celiabermingham.

PARISH IN COUNCIL met on Wednesday and we resolved to resume First Holy Communion Preparation next Saturday for the group which was suspended last year due to Covid. Their First Communion Mass will be on Saturday 11th December. In the New Year, Carol will start the next group which is large and will possibly have to be split into two subgroups. Please contact Carol or Margery at school for further details.

SINCE CHRISTMAS DAY FALLS ON SATURDAY, our traditional Vigil Mass will be in a nice warm church at 6pm on Friday 24th December. We are keen to know how many people would be available for our normal Sunday observance, which would be on Christmas Day Evening. The alternative is to celebrate Mass in Moorends at 10:30am on Sunday (Boxing Day) or to follow one of the streamed services. Please indicate your preference on the list in the Porch.

WE REALLY NEED VOLUNTEERS to help with the Parish Ministries, including Bulletin/Booklet production, Readers at Mass and help with the weekly Asylum Group Sessions. Unless we get help, it’s sadly inevitable that some of these vital ministries will be lost as there’s already insufficient people to keep them running.

FOOD BANK – This week the Foodbank has delivered food parcels to 7 homes in the area and 14 people came to collect from St Mary’s Church. Many thanks to all who contribute and all who run the Foodbank.

PARISH SAFEGUARDING: Contact is Carol Flanagan. Many thanks Carol. A very important ministry.

E-BULLETIN: Produced by John. Please email any items to churchstainforth. Thank You.

If you need information or assistance then please call the Parish Mobile on 07714 793120.

If you no longer wish to receive our E-Bulletin, reply to this email with the word UNSUBSCRIBE as the subject
